About Lime Country Thoroughbreds
Lime Country's Australian Expansion
In early 2016 Greg & Jo Griffin made the decision to move away from their base in the Hawkes Bay of New Zealand to ensure their business and family were positioned solidly for the future. For the last twelve months they have painstakingly reviewed their business, the thoroughbred industries in both New Zealand and Australia and their family's needs. While they loved their time in New Zealand, at the end of 2016 the opportunity of a lifetime presented itself in Australia. Their recent move to the Southern Highlands of NSW in Australia has been the culmination of a year of planning and many big decisions but they are delighted to be settling into their new property and look forward to many rewarding and successful years at their new home.
It wasn't hard to figure out why NSW currently has one of the most, if not the most, vibrant, progressive and accessible racing and breeding industries in the world today. Exceptional prizemoney, forward-thinking participants and world-class bloodstock are the reasons why the Australian racing and breeding industries are ahead of the rest, and why Lime Country decided to be a part of it.
Through an earlier business relationship with Duncan Ramage and Dato Tan Chin Nam they had a solid foundation in place to approach them with an innovative and mutually beneficial proposal in regard to the future of the Tan family farm which appealed to both parties. After much research and due diligence their move to the beautiful property formally known as Think Big Stud came to fruition in February of 2017.
It is the property of a lifetime, the opportunity of a lifetime and they feel extremely blessed to have secured it along with taking care of the Tan family's bloodstock in the future.
